Multi Sleeve Vibrator Kit from Evolved Novelties

Review by Bubbles

Well, I am disappointed to say that this product arrived broken. However, the kit was not completely unsalvageable. Let me explain.

This kit comes in a white cardboard box with a 5.5 inch vibrator. The battery lid and dial at the base take up about an inch so truly, the vibe is only 4.5 inches. The sleeves range from 4.75 inches (rounding up) to 5.75 inches long. They are each 1.25 inches wide, so not quite as thick as the 1.5 inches boasted on the back of the box, if you want to be picky.

So. First thing's first. I wanted to turn this thing on. The vibe uses 1 AA battery. I grabbed my battery an unscrewed the base at the bottom. The battery compartment in the vibrator was absolutely confusing. There were no instructions that came with the box. In fact, I just inspected the box again and there are no instructions for inserting the battery. No big, right? Putting a battery in should be a no-brainer. The worst that could happen is I put it in backwards. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. There were no +- signs to indicate the direction of the battery, so naturally, I just popped it in and assumed I would flip it around if it didn't work (I didn't note if I inserted it positive or negative first.) I screwed the end back on, turned the dial, and...nothing. It didn't turn on.

So I opened it back up and here's where it all goes south. The battery would not come out. There was no way to grab on to it, so I shook the thing. Lightly at first...it would not budge. So I shook it a little more violently and guess what? The whole freaking inner vibrator mechanism flew out onto the floor. It still looked intact, so I continued working at that battery. It turned out there was a little slip of white paper in there. I grabbed some pliers and gripped the paper, hoping to cause some friction to work the battery out. Eventually, I did get it out, whilst ripping that little white paper.

Finally I turned the battery around and I popped the whole vibe mechanism back into the chrome bullet case. There was a little stubborn piece of flat copper wire that kept moving out of place, so I had to adjust it a few times before I thought I had everything right. Welp. I either didn't put it back together correctly, or the thing was broken from the get-go, or maybe that little white paper I removed was important (I think I read in one of the other girl's reviews that their kit came with instructions for that pesky piece of paper. Whether I should have had it in or out, I have no idea), but the vibe didn't want to turn on. That being said, The box does state there is a 5 year warranty. I did not contact their support team and cannot tell you how cooperative they are about the warranty, however, it's there. So if you run into my problem, try going to the myevolved.com website and see if they can help.

Onto the sleeves. Here is the good news. This baby comes with four sleeves made of TPR. Honestly, this is my first vibrator (well, along with the one in the Adam & Eve kit that I got at the same time Yes, I am a virgin to sex toys!), so I have no idea what materials are typically used to make these toys, but the TPR sleeves, while flexy, are solid enough to use without the vibe. Or you could still slip them over the bullet for added hardness and use them like a dildo. Admittedly less exciting, but not completely disappointing right?

I actually got a very similar bullet style vibe with sleeves in my Adam & Eve kit, so I tried using them with the vibe from that kit instead. Another bummer. The vibrator from that kit is not just longer but thicker, so these sleeves just would not fit it. I did try slipping the sleeves onto the bullet it came with and it wasn't the easiest thing either. You actually end up pushing air into the sleeve and it kind of wants to shoot back off. Gently squeezing the air out of the sleeve while twisting it on helps and so does adding a little bit of lube to the bullet. The battery base creates a bit of a grip that you can grab onto to get the sleeve back off, but there is a little struggling involved.

The kit is easy to clean with soap and water, and the box claims it is waterproof. Again, that it isn't something I can testify to as mine didn't work from the start so I just don't know how it would do in water, but the battery lid does appear to have an air tight seal so perhaps the makers are correct on that one.

In the end, the product did disappoint, but with a working vibe I'm sure the bumps, numbs, and curves of the sleeves would be quite satisfying.
